Since her involvement in the industry, opal production at Lightning Ridge has became more scarce, she instinctively rebelled against the trend of cutting Opal in the traditional cabochon style, which tends to grind away precious material, and has steadfastly concentrated on developing her own carving technique. In collaboration with “Down to Earth Opals” promotion of L’Abbate’s distinctively sensuous shapes has caused a ripple on the glassy surface of the Opal world .
